This porch was sloping badly toward the house due to settlement from poor gutter downspout placement. We first solved the drainage problem, routing the water away from the house, under the porch and down the adjacent slope
The client wanted to save the pergola, which had an established wisteria plant growing on it. The old deck framing was still in great shape with no signs of rot.
To make it a budget-friendly rebuild, we built up the deck to the appropriate slope away from the house atop the existing post and beam foundation.
